Image models: SDXL and Krea 2

The Image engine selector at the top of the Generate tab lets you pick which model renders your image. tendre.AI ships two, and they are good at different things.

SDXL (characters, LoRA)

SDXL is the versatile workhorse. It runs locally on your GPU for free and powers the full pipeline: consistent characters (InstantID and trained LoRA), image styles, scenes, and the Retouch (inpainting) tools. You pick a checkpoint (CyberRealisticXL, RealVisXL, DreamShaperXL and others) as its look. Choose SDXL whenever you need a recurring character, a trained LoRA, or a specific style.

Krea 2 Turbo (next generation)

Krea 2 Turbo is the newer model, built for state-of-the-art photorealism and native 2K output (it renders 2K directly instead of upscaling a smaller image). It is fast, a distilled Turbo model. By default it renders in the cloud and draws from your credits; install the Krea 2 pack (about 18.6 GB) from the Components tab to run it locally on your GPU instead.

Krea 2 is pure text to image: it does not use consistent characters (no InstantID or LoRA) or the face detailer. For a specific person carried across scenes, stay on SDXL.

Which one to pick

• Recurring character, LoRA, or a set style: SDXL (local, free).
• Best raw photorealism or a native 2K one-off: Krea 2 Turbo.

The choice is per generation, so you can switch between them at any time from the Image engine selector.
