Installation and system requirements
tendre.AI runs on Windows and Mac as a desktop app, and on Android as a phone app. The app itself takes a few minutes to install. What it downloads next depends on your machine and on what you want to create.

A machine without local generation still runs the whole app: generation then happens on our servers. Without a licence, 5 images and 1 video are free every day; beyond that, generation uses credits. GeForce GTX 10 series and older cards, and AMD or Intel graphics, are not supported for local generation.
You need an internet connection to install, and to download the models.
Install on Windows
1. Download and run the installer
Download the Windows installer from tendre.ai and run it. It is signed by its publisher and installs for your Windows user only, so it asks for no administrator rights. If Windows SmartScreen still shows a notice, click More info, then Run anyway.
The installer puts the app in your user folder (AppData\Local\Tendre.AI). On a PC without Microsoft Edge WebView2, it downloads it first. If tendre.AI is already open, for example when you reinstall it, the installer asks you to close it before going on.
2. Choose your language and accept the terms
On first launch, choose your language, then read and accept the terms of use and click Continue.
3. Local or online
tendre.AI opens the full app, Studio, for everyone: the setup no longer asks for a mode. If your graphics card can generate locally, the next screen offers the local engines. Otherwise, everything renders online (Cloud GPU), the local-only tools stay greyed out, and chat with characters is on by default (you can turn it off in the settings). 4. Choose what to install
The Welcome to Tendre.AI screen shows your graphics card and lists what tendre.AI can install on this PC, each with its size:

Edit an image and Train a character share the same 1.8 GB file. Without the training workshop, your photos are prepared on your graphics card and the final training runs on our servers, for credits. The generation engine (2.6 GB) comes with the first feature you tick.
The screen adds everything up under Total to download. tendre.AI does not check the free space on the drive: make sure it has room for that total. Everything can be added or removed later in Settings > Components.
Rather not install anything? Or generate in the cloud without installing anything takes you straight into the app, rendering online.
5. Choose the install folder
Click Install Tendre.AI and choose a folder. tendre.AI creates a TendreEngine subfolder there, and a TendreTrainer subfolder for the training workshop. Pick a folder you own, such as Documents, or a folder at the root of a drive (C:\Tendre, D:\Tendre). A protected folder such as Program Files needs administrator rights: tendre.AI then asks you to pick another one.

6. Wait for the core files, then get started
Keep the window open while the engine and the core image files download and unpack. If the install is interrupted, it picks up where it stopped. When All set! shows, click Get started.
The rest, video included, keeps downloading in the background while you use the app, with a progress bar at the bottom of the sidebar. Until the video engine is installed, videos render online.
Your images, videos and characters are saved in Documents\Tendre.AI.
Install on Mac
- Download the Mac app (
.dmg) from tendre.ai, open it and drag tendre.AI onto the Applications folder. Always launch it from Applications: updates cannot install while the app runs from the disk image. - The first time you open it, macOS asks you to confirm an app downloaded from the internet: click Open. The app is notarized by Apple.
- Choose your language and accept the terms.
- The setup screen shows your chip and its memory. If your Mac can generate images locally, it asks Where to generate images?:
- Online (recommended): fast, nothing to install, each image uses credits.
- On this Mac: free and offline, about 5 minutes per image on an M4, about 43 GB to download.
On a Mac, image creation from text and retouching can run locally. Video and character training always run online. More in tendre.AI for Mac.
Install on Android
The Android app is an APK file, downloaded from tendre.ai rather than from Google Play.
- Open the download link on your phone. If your browser warns that this type of file can harm your device, choose to download it anyway.
- Open the downloaded file. The first time, Android asks you to allow your browser to install unknown apps: allow it, then tap Install. If Google Play Protect shows a notice for an app it does not know, choose to install anyway.
- Choose your language and accept the terms: the app opens, there is nothing else to install.
On Android, everything renders online: images, videos and chat with characters. Your licence covers your PC and your phone: see License activation.
Updates
On Windows and Mac, tendre.AI looks for a new version at launch and shows Update available. Install now downloads it, installs it and restarts the app; Later keeps your current version. You can also check in Settings > Update > Check for updates.
On Android, Install now downloads the new APK: open it to install the update. Your data is kept.
Uninstall
On Windows, uninstall tendre.AI from Windows Settings > Apps, like any other app. Tick Delete the application data to also remove its settings. The uninstaller does not touch the TendreEngine folder nor your creations in Documents\Tendre.AI: to get the space back, remove the engine first in Settings > Components, or delete those folders yourself.
On a Mac, drag tendre.AI from Applications to the Trash. The local engine, if you installed it, stays in the folder you chose.
