Foley

Foley is the practice of adding sound effects to a video so that on-screen actions, footsteps, fabric, ambience, wind, actually have matching audio. The term comes from traditional filmmaking, where artists recreate everyday sounds in a studio to sync with a scene.

For AI-generated video, foley means the model produces sound effects that fit the motion and content of the clip automatically, instead of the clip staying silent.

In tendre.AI, foley is added afterward with the local Add sound tool (MMAudio): pick a silent clip, describe one effect per clip, footsteps, a door, breaking glass, and it renders matching audio on your GPU. It stays limited to ambience and sound effects, not spoken dialogue or music.
