Outpainting

Outpainting expands an image past its original edges. Instead of editing what is already there, the model generates new pixels outside the current frame, matching the existing lighting, style and content so the extension looks like it was part of the original shot.

It is useful for changing an image's aspect ratio, revealing more of a scene, or turning a tight crop into a wider composition.

tendre.AI's local editing tool, the Retouch tab, is built for inpainting, repainting an area inside an image, rather than extending its borders. Outpainting itself is not part of the current toolset, so growing a canvas beyond its original edges is not yet available directly in the app.
